Welsh Women’s Aid is here to support its members to deliver lifesaving services to survivors of gender-based violence. We collate information from members through regular meetings, surveys, and information requests in order to communicate your concerns to the Welsh and UK Governments, police and other national services. We raise members’ concerns about the lack of direct funding for the sector and continue to make a case for sustainable funding for our sector in Wales.
If there are specific costs or income loss that you haven’t already told us about, please contact: [email protected] or your specific key lead. The more accurate and up to date we information we have, the better case we can make for your services.
Welsh Women’s Aid works hard to support members around funding and fundraising and will continue to do this on an ongoing basis. Our offer to members includes:
An update to the Member Funding Opportunities document is completed on a fortnightly basis. It is sent out via the member newsletter and can also be downloaded in the Resources section below.
We can provide you with support and advice around your funding applications, proposals, or tenders as appropriate. Accessing a fresh perspective when reviewing applications is always recommended for the best chance of success. Member information will be treated as confidential.
The network meets on a quarterly basis via Zoom and aims to provide a regular peer support forum for those responsible for fundraising in our organisations. We discuss funding opportunities, funder experiences, success stories and challenges, wider fundraising resources and tips, and areas of fundraising training support required. You can view the network’s Terms of Reference in our Resources section.
Where possible, Welsh Women’s Aid aims to collaborate with members. This may involve working together to plan, create, and submit partner bids, co-ordinating bids on behalf of the membership, or ensuring that members’ needs are reflected in Welsh Women’s Aid bids.
We are sometimes offered gifts that might be helpful to members and will always ensure that these are passed on.
When approached via a 3rd party wishing to support a specific locality, Welsh Women’s Aid is always transparent about how we work and where appropriate, direct the 3rd party to the relevant member service.
To find out more about any aspect of our funding support offer, join the Members’ Fundraising Network, or provide information relating to partnership or training requests please contact: [email protected] and [email protected].
