As key stakeholder of Welsh Women’s Aid’s direct services in Wrexham and Colwyn Bay, we are pleased to inform you of the successful transfer of these Welsh Women’s Aid managed services to Domestic Abuse Safety Unit (DASU) North Wales.
The transfer took effect from Wednesday 1st May 2019, and since this date both the Wrexham and Colwyn Bay domestic abuse services have been integrated into the governance and management of DASU North Wales.
Both services will continue to be delivered locally, supported by existing funders, to provide the same high-quality support services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children, in accordance with Wales National Quality Service Standards for specialist services.
This service transfer was underpinned by our joint commitment to the development, delivery, local management, and sustainability of high quality, specialist services for survivors and their families impacted by domestic abuse. It provides an exciting opportunity to further develop existing and new services in Wrexham and Colwyn Bay, and means DASU North Wales extends its scope from service provision in Denbighshire and Flintshire to a larger geographical area whilst providing excellent value for money.
Over the coming months DASU North Wales will facilitate opportunities to engage with and share the vision of the new integrated service with survivors, stakeholders and partners, and looks forward to working with you in the future to further improve responses to domestic abuse across North Wales.
