Welsh Women’s Aid response to the Spending Review announcement on funding women’s services:

This week, the UK Government announced their spending review priorities, which included ring-fencing proceeds from the ‘tampon tax’ to provide £15million to fund “women’s services” each year. This included a shared £2million between England-based domestic abuse charities – Women’s Aid England and Safe Lives – and it was further announced that an allocation of £40million would be made for local domestic abuse services in England.Welsh Women’s Aid CEO, Eleri Butler, responds to these proposals and calls for action to save specialist services in Wales.
