Stories of Hope and Survival – I Am (Day 8)

I Am

I am an all day woman
I am a purple woman
I am a bruised woman
I am a hurt woman
I am the no-nothing woman
I am a fragile woman
I am the no-confidence woman
I am the woman who treads on egg shells
I am the woman with a snake in man’s clothes
I am the woman who no longer lives in fear of what to say
I am the woman who sleeps in a bed and not on the sofa
I am heartbroken woman
I am not the fruit loop he called me
I am not persuaded by the man who is a fake as a counterfeit
I am gaining control of my life now he is no longer in my life
I am a star in my boy’s eyes
I am the sunshine that brightens my day
I am blossoming like the trees in spring
I feel as free as a bird soaring in the sunshine
I am not a waste of space anymore the people who surround me are my true friends and help to guide me
My children are my inspiration and I will do all I can to protect and love them
This is who I am
